Cologne, the Art City

Location: Cologne
Date: as requested
Participants: 15 people per group

Cologne has become a European art metropolis in the past years and thereby a magnet for gallery owners, artists and collectors from the entire world. This can also be seen expressed in the annual ART COLOGNE where, for example, two times annually thousands of visitors from Germany and abroad are drawn to the gallery-days. There are 5,500 Cologne citizens for each gallery. That is probably a world record.

It is also probably a world-record that more than a thousand artists (nobody really knows the exact number) live in Cologne, and the number is increasing all of the time. There is no doubt: World-renowned gallery owners, the large number and the high quality of the museums, the artists and art-procurers have made Cologne — after New York and Paris — into an international centre of the avant-garde and one of the most important emporia for art.

This morning, then, is set aside for a close-up look at this art scene. An experienced art historian will accompany the group to select and interesting galleries (approximately 3 galleries) comprising various media (for example, painting, sculpture, photography). The guests will naturally be given an introduction into the actual exhibited works through the gallery owner, or, where possible, the artist themself may be present. Musical entertainment can also be provided during the tour; a refreshment service with champagne and finger food in individual galleries is also an option.
Duration of the tour, approximately 2.5 -3 hours

Price: beginning at approximately € 2,450.00
