Due to his excellent work Wissler received his first Michelin star in 2001, followed by the second and third one in 2002 respectively 2004. He was also rewarded as “Cook of the year” by Gault Millau in 2004. In addition the Vendôme has been named "Restaurant of the year” by the prestigious ‘Feinschmecker’ magazine and in 2005 Joachim Wissler was named "Chef of the Year". Since then Joachim Wissler belongs to Germany’s elitist circle of chefs. Besides the top Michelin ranking, the gourmet restaurant „Vendôme“, Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg, additionally was decorated with 19,5 Gault Millaut points and five Feinschmecker “F” for 2011.
